The rubber hoses on a CT9A have now spent the best part of twenty years being heated, cooled and pressurised, and they fail from the inside out where you cannot see it coming. Silicone handles that cycle far better: it stays pliable instead of going hard and glazed, and it does not swell and soften at the clamped ends the way old rubber does. The black finish keeps the engine bay looking factory rather than announcing itself.
