The rear upper arm pivots on two inner bushings and this kit covers the front one, so it works with the rear position bushing rather than instead of it. Deflection at this end tends to show up as the rear of the car taking a moment to decide what it is doing when you change direction, because the arm is twisting in its mount before it starts locating anything. Firming it up is what makes a quick left-right feel like one movement instead of two.
