Everything the rear axle does under power on a 4G63 AWD car has to pass through the trailing arm, and its front bushing is what keeps that arm from shuffling backward and forward as the torque comes and goes. Let it wear and the rear steers itself a fraction on turn-in, then hands the toe back on the exit — the exact sensation that makes an otherwise sorted Evo feel loose through quick direction changes. A polyurethane pair pins the arm down again.
